Wage & Hour Rights and Responsibilities

Wage Payment: Employee rights consist of:- Spend for all wages earned (INFO # 3) at the rate consented to by the company and employee.

– Pay of a minimum of minimum wage (INFO # 1), the relevant Colorado or local base pay, and all made overtime earnings without impermissible reductions from their salaries;.

– Pay of all earned incomes without impermissible reductions (INFO # 16).

Labor Statutes, Rules, & Published Guidance

Statutes & Rules: DLSS implements numerous of Colorado’s wage and hour and other kinds of labor statutes and labor guidelines, including the Colorado Wage Act, the Colorado Overtime and Minimum Pay Standards (” COMPS Order”), and the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Please check out the Division’s Labor Statutes and Labor Rules websites for present and previous versions of essential Colorado labor statutes and guidelines.

Published Guidance: The Division’s primary types of public assistance are:- INFOs (Interpretive Notices and Formal Opinions) – the Division’s formally approved notifications, opinions, and explanations on different labor law topics; and.

– KNOWLEDGEs (Knowledge for Workers on Labor Law is Empowering & Drives Good Employment) one-page summaries for workers on their labor rights.

Written Demands, Complaints, & Investigations

Demands & Complaints for job Wages: job If a company owes you earnings, you can send your employer a composed need for payment of salaries by mail, email, job text message, or other electronic ways. A written need might be sent to the company at the exact same time a Labor Standards Complaint Form for unsettled earnings is submitted with the Division. Employer Responses in Investigations: Once a total Labor Standards Complaint Form is received and evaluated, a letter explaining the nature of the complaint and the quantities alleged to be owed is sent out to the employer. Investigations Launched by the Division (” Direct Investigations”): The Division may carry out employer-wide direct investigations of possible infractions of Colorado wage and hour law. If you would like to file an individual claim for unpaid salaries, you need to complete a Labor Standards Complaint Form on our Demands, Complaints, Responses, and Settlements webpage.
